I am so glad you stopped by my website to check me out. If I asked my 12 year old self what I want to be when I grow up, “realtor” will not be one of the answers simply because in the era I grew up in china, the word “Realtor” was not in the vocabulary.
So what made me become a realtor for a decade and half now? My story is similar to many first generation immigrants, especially women and mothers. If I could summarize it into one word, it is “Family”.
I was a philosophy teacher in a university in my hometown before I came to Canada. My first real job in Canada was as a software developer in Calgary, which I enjoyed very much. If I never had kids, I would still be coding. But I did have a son, and when he started school, I started to feel the tremendous tore between mother’s instinct and a career woman’s ambition. For the first time I realized that my best value and highest purpose was to be the mother of my son and give him the best childhood I could.
